Fr. Ricardo Lusuegro (1967-2010)

Fr. Ricardo Jamon Lusuegro died in a hospital in Londrina, Brazil, at 7:00 in the evening on December 3, 2010. He was 43 years old.

Fr. Ricardo was born on October 13, 1967, in Sorsogon City. After earning a B.A. in Social Communications, in 1997 he entered the PIME Seminary in Rome, where he studied Philosophy and did the Period of Spirituality. He then did his theological studies at the PIME Seminary in Tagaytay City. He took the Final Promise as a member of PIME on June 6, 2003, and was ordained a priest on May 1, 2004, in the Parish of Mary Queen of Apostles. After his ordination he was assigned the Region of South Brazil. He worked in the parishes of St. Vincent de Paul in Assis and St. Anthony in Jardim, Mato Grosso.

Last August he underwent an operation on his liver in a hospital in Londrina (in his youth he had suffered from hepatitis). After a period of convalescence in the PIME House in Ibiporã, he returned to the parish in Mato Grosso.

However, his condition took a turn for the worse, and he was rushed back to the hospital in Londrina, where he died from a general failure of his vital organs.

The funeral is scheduled for Monday, December 6 in the parish church of Ibiporã, followed by burial in the municipal cemetery.
